Genetic crosses and genetic diseases

5) genetic diagrams are useful prior to pregnancy because the couple can see whether their child will have a genetic disease when they are born. This could also cause deep consideration to going with the risk of seeing their child suffer from a genetic disease and watch him/her die or they could terminate the pregnancy killing the child . However there is also a possibility that the child will not have the genetic disease. It could also be against their religion to terminate the pregnancy as it is in some religions such as Islam.

3) people with cystic fibrosis are prone to chest and lung infection because it causes a large build up of mucus.

5) it can go against their religion to terminate a pregnancy.
They could be taking the risk of letting their child suffer from the disease and they could have to watch their child suffer from it and die. They could also be killing their child when it might not have the disease.

Assessment)
Task 1) because the parents pass on these characteristics known as alleles to their children and the parents can have a recessive and dominant set, 2 recessive or 2 dominant. Two of the same alleles can been classified as homozygous which is either two dominant alleles or two recessive alleles. If the parent has one recessive and one dominant it is known as heterozygous
It passed on by the alleles in the nucleus.
It is surprising because brown hair is more dominant than blonde hair in the family. This means that brown hair is a dominant allele and blonde hair is recessive.

Task 2) it was not certain that the child would be blonde because all births are random and it just meant that brown hair had a higher possibility of being given to the child than blonde hair.

Task 3) Will has a stockier build whereas the others have a slimmer build. He and Andy both have blue eyes whereas Ellie has brown eyes.

Task 4)
